01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, keep small values in your browser in the same way. This policy covers both on itsonmedia.com and our blog at itsonmedia.com/blog, which is run by Its On Media LLC (“Its On Media”, “we”, “us”). It adds detail to the cookies section of our Privacy Policy.
02Your choice
When you first visit, a cookie bar at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept analytics:
- Accept loads the analytics tools described in section 4.
- Reject, or not choosing, means none of them load and they set no cookies.
We remember your choice for 12 months, then ask again. It applies to both our main site and our blog. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or with the button below. If you switch from Accept to Reject, we delete the analytics cookies these tools set on our domain.
03Necessary storage
Our own website code doesn’t set cookies. It keeps two small values in your browser, which are needed for the site to work as described and don’t track you:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
iomConsent | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics. | 12 months |
iomPreloaderSeen | Session storage | Plays the opening animation only once per visit. | Until you close the tab |
Our site is also delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which may set cookies of its own to keep the site secure and to run the bot check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile). See Cloudflare’s cookie policy.
04Analytics cookies
These are set only if you click Accept. They help us understand how people use our site so we can improve it. When they load, we tell Google and Microsoft that advertising storage is not allowed.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits from the same browser apart, so we can count visitors. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit for our Google Analytics property. | Up to 2 years |
_hjSessionUser_<ID> | Hotjar | Recognizes the same browser across visits for session recordings and heatmaps. | 1 year |
_hjSession_<ID> | Hotjar | Links the pages you view in one visit into a single recording. | 30 minutes |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Recognizes the same browser across visits for session recordings and heatmaps. | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links the pages you view in one visit into a single recording. | 1 day |
<ID> is the identifier of our account with that tool. Your browser may keep some cookies for less time than shown. These tools may also set cookies on their own domains. For details, see how Google uses cookies, Hotjar’s cookie list and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
05Embedded services
Some pages include services run by other companies, which may set their own cookies when they load:
- Calendly, when its booking calendar loads. See Calendly’s Privacy Notice.
- Google Maps, on our contact page. See how Google uses cookies.
We don’t control these cookies. Blocking them in your browser may stop the map or the booking calendar from loading.
06Our blog
Our blog uses the same cookie bar and the same choice as our main site. If you accept, it loads its own Google Analytics, Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity accounts, which set the same kinds of cookies listed in section 4. The blog runs on WordPress, which may set its own functional cookies, for example if you leave a comment.
07Browser controls
You can also view, block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Here’s how in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. If you clear your site data, we’ll ask for your cookie choice again on your next visit.
08Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the tools on our site change. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
